Toyota finally launched GT 86 Sports Coupe. Toyota GT 86 Sports Coupe will be launched for the European and Japanese domestic. Tokyo Motor Show 2011 to debut early GT 86. Change the name of the FT 86 to GT 86 for the European market and just 86 names without FT or GT in the Japanese automotive market.
Toyota GT 86 is a variant of the 2+2 coupe, with the long dimension of 4240 mm (166.9 inches), height 1285 mm (50.6 inches) wide and 2570 mm (101.2 inches). The appearance of the body does not undergo much change just looks more fresh and natural. This is a great successor of the legendary Corolla GT.
This car is equipped with a 2.0-liter boxer engine developed by Subaru with the addition of Toyota’s D-4S direct injection technology. This engine produces 200 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and torque of 205 Nm (151.2 lb-ft) at 6600 rpm. Power is sent to a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic transmission.
Toyota offers the drivetrain to get a good balance. 53:47 weight distribution from front to back, almost touching the numbers 50:50, but it was enough to provide security to the driver.
